Ged Richardson

Finance Lead - Integrated Waste Management Procurement Project at Isle of Wight Council

Ged Richardson has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over four decades. Ged has held various roles in different organizations.

Ged started their career as a Trainee Accountant with the Merseyside Metropolitan County Council in 1979. Ged then moved on to become a Senior Accountant at Three Rivers District Council in 1981, and later a Senior Auditor at the City of London Corporation in 1984.

In 1987, Ged joined the London Borough of Brent as an Audit Manager, focusing on cost effectiveness. Ged then became the Chief Internal Auditor at the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham in 1989, a position they held until 2000.

After this, they worked as the Audit Training Manager for the Government of St. Helena from 2000 to 2002. Ged then joined the Isle of Wight Council in 2003 as the Chief Internal Auditor, a role they fulfilled until 2011.

Ged also served as the Partnership Business Manager at West Wight Partnership from 2011 to 2012. Ged then took on the role of Contracts Manager in Children's Services and later became the Finance Lead for the Integrated Waste Management Procurement Project at the Isle of Wight Council, where they are currently employed.

Throughout their career, Ged has gained a wealth of experience in finance, auditing, management, and procurement.

GED Richardson's education history includes a Diploma in School Business Management/Administrative Management from the National College for School Leadership in 2011-2012, a Chartered Public Finance Accountant degree from Liverpool Polytechnic in 1979-1983, a B.A. (Hons) in Politics from the University of Liverpool in 1976-1979, and secondary education at St Thomas Aquinas Grammar School in Leeds from 1970-1975 and St. Wilfrid's High School in Featherstone from 1968-1970.
