Chris Spencer

Chris Spencer is currently a Research Leader at Isomorphic Labs, a position held since May 2024. Prior to this role, Chris served as an Independent Consultant in Statistical Genetics from September 2023 to March 2024. Chris has extensive experience at Genomics plc, where roles included Director of Core Analytics, Head of Innovation, and Co-Head of Science from September 2014 to September 2023. Previous academic positions include Wellcome Trust Research Fellow and Group Leader at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics at the University of Oxford from June 2012 to September 2017, and Research Fellow and founding member of the Centre for Personalised Medicine at St Anne's College, University of Oxford from September 2011 to October 2016. Chris was also a Scientific Leadership Fellow at the Nuffield Department of Medicine from September 2009 to September 2011 and a Senior Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Statistics, University of Oxford from September 2006 to October 2009. Chris earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Statistical Genetics from the University of Oxford from 2001 to 2005.
