Jim Rich has worked in the technology and science industries since 1989. Jim began as a Biological Oceanographer, conducting research in various locations as part of a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF). In 1995, they took on the role of Campus Information Technology Associate at the University of Delaware, providing technical support to the Faculty, Students, and Staff at the College of Marine Studies. In 1998, they became the Information Technology Manager at the Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium (LUMCON), where they supported Faculty, Staff, and Students with scientific/educational computing. In 2000, they joined Circle.com as a Senior Software Engineer, working with strong marketing and creative teams. In 2003, they joined Euro RSCG 4D as a Senior Software Engineer and worked on .Net and SQL Server development. In 2005, they joined BEAM Interactive as a Partner and Executive Director of Technology and Operations, where they restructured the project management team, improved company processes, and standardized practices. Jim also acquired and retained new projects from clients. In 2018, they became Senior Director of Technology at Epsilon. Most recently, in 2020, they became Agency Partner and COO at Isovera.

Jim Rich obtained a B.S. in Biology (Cell) and Minor in Botany from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville between 1986 and 1991. Jim then went on to obtain an M.S. in Marine Biology/Biochemistry from the University of Delaware between 1991 and 1994. In 1999, they obtained a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) (NT4/2000) from Microsoft. In 2000, they obtained a Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) (SQL Server 2000) from Microsoft.
