Associate Vice President Of Community Based Programs at Italian Home for Children

Yota Gikas has extensive experience in the field of psychology and mental health, spanning over 16 years. Yota has held various roles in different organizations, including the Italian Home for Children, where they worked from 2009 to the present. At the Italian Home for Children, Yota has held positions such as Associate Vice President of Community Based Programs, Clinic Director, Assistant Clinic Director, Clinical Supervisor, and Outpatient Clinician.

In addition to their work at the Italian Home for Children, Yota has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Boston College Lynch School since 2016. Yota has been involved in teaching and mentoring students in the field of psychology.

Yota Gikas holds a Master's degree and a Ph.D. in Psychology. Yota also has certification in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (C-DBT).

Yota Gikas, MA, Ph.D, C-DBT has a strong education background in psychology and counseling. Yota obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology with a minor in English Literature from Northeastern University in 2002, graduating with summa cum laude honors. Yota then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College from 2002 to 2004. Yota continued their education at Suffolk University, where they completed a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Psychology from 2004 to 2006. Yota subsequently earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Children & Families from Suffolk University, graduating in 2010. Yota has also obtained various certifications, including being a Certified DBT Therapist from Evergreen Certifications and holding a license as a Psychologist Provider from the Division of Professional Licensure MA - Board of Psychology.
