Catalina Morfín López

General Academic Director at ITESO

Catalina Morfín López is the current General Academic Director at ITESO. Catalina previously worked as a professor at ITESO Universidad Jesuita de Guadalajara from August 2009 to January 2011, where they taught Diseño Hipermedial. Catalina also worked as a Coordinadora de Tecnología Educativa at Instituto Alpes Cumbres Guadalajara from January 2005 to January 2020. During their time there, they were responsible for leading educational innovation projects throughout the institution, as well as consulting on the implementation of G Suite for Education and Chromebook Deployment. Catalina also implemented and developed educational robotics programs using Dash & Dot, Lego, VEX, and RoboBuilder. These programs won gold and silver medals in 2012, 2016, and 2018 at the international Robogames competition in San Francisco, California in the categories of Futbol, Lego Bowling, and Tube Push. Catalina is currently leading the institution's technology-education renewal project in order to achieve Google Reference School certification. Prior to their work in education, Catalina worked as a documentation specialist at Computación en Acción from January 1998 to December 2001.

Catalina Morfín López has a Licenciatura in Ciencias de la Comunicación from ITESO Universidad Jesuita de Guadalajara. Catalina also has a Maestria en Educación con Especialidad en Tecnología from Universidad Interamericana para el Desarrollo. In addition, they are certified by Microsoft in Microsoft Office Specialist Excel 2016, Microsoft Office Specialist PowerPoint 2016, Microsoft Office Specialist Word 2016, and Microsoft Office Specialist Master 2007 and 2003. Catalina is also certified by Google for Education as a Google Certified Educator Level 2.

Catalina Morfín López reports to Alexander Zatyrka, Rector. Some individuals on their team include Andrea Mónica Fellner Grassmann - Professor, Interdisciplinary Center for Social Formation & Engagement, Claudia Ibarra Baidón - Professor, Department of Economics, Administration & Marketing, and Maelvi Lizette Muñoz Álvarez - Undergraduate Program Coordinator, Educational Sciences. They work with Juan Carlos Núñez Bustillos - Secretary of The Rector's Office, Jorge Fernández Aguilera - Director of Planning, and Jorge Enrique Rocha Quintero - Director of Community Integration.
