Fumihiko Kobayashi is the EVP & Chief Administrative Officer at Itochu Corporation. Fumihiko has over thirty years of experience in the field of transportation and infrastructure development.
Kobayashi began their career with ITOCHU International Inc. in 1984, where they successfully managed two large contracts totaling over $250 million. Fumihiko also initiated and consummated ITOCHU's $20 million acquisition of a manufacturer of airconditioning system for rail cars. In their ten years with the company, Kobayashi rose to the position of Director of Administration and Director of Materials.
In 2004, Kobayashi joined the IFC - International Finance Corporation, where they served as the Chief Special Operations Officer for the Department of Special Operations. In this role, they were responsible for the recovery of IFC's non performing loans and equity investments. Fumihiko also gained extensive experience working in Africa, managing projects in South Africa, Mozambique, Swaziland, Mauritius, Angola, Congos, Tanzania, Nigeria, Cote d'Ivoire, Mali, Gambia, Sudan, Tunisia, Morocco, Yemen, Turkey, Montenegro, Slovenia, Moldova, Russia, India, Belize, Grenada, Trinidad & Tobago, etc. Kobayashi was invited as a panelist for the 2011 Africa Business Conference at Harvard Business School.
