Tommi Parkkila

Tommi Parkkila is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in firmware engineering, embedded systems, and project management. Currently serving as Principal Firmware Engineer at Itron, Inc., Tommi leads the Distributed Intelligence IoT Project, focusing on system design and firmware architecture. As Co-Founder and CTO of Breezi.io, Tommi has developed a comprehensive consumer-facing embedded ecosystem, including hardware, firmware, mobile applications, and cloud services. Previously, Tommi held positions as R&D Manager and Lead Hardware Architect at SEC of America, where responsibilities included managing research and development activities and overseeing the design of cloud-based industrial products. Early career roles at VTT involved research in wireless sensor networks and dynamic configuration management. Tommi earned a Master of Science in Information Engineering from the University of Oulu, specializing in embedded systems and automation.
