David Hamilton

David Hamilton is a seasoned professional in the field of zoology and animal care, currently serving as the General Curator at Seneca Park Zoo since March 2004, where responsibilities include managing the animal collection and keeper staff alongside project management. Hamilton also holds positions as an Adjunct Instructor at Rochester Institute of Technology, facilitating a Zoo Internship Course and teaching General Biology Labs, and serves as the Chair of the Small Carnivore Taxon Advisory Group with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. As the Proprietor of Hamilton Zoological, consultation services encompass habitat design and staff development. Hamilton's extensive experience further includes roles such as SSP Coordinator for the North American river otter, organizer and instructor for the Otter Keeper Workshop, and previous key positions at Knoxville Zoo. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Ethology and a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology, both from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
