Vhalinavho Khavhagali is an accomplished environmental leader with extensive experience in climate change adaptation and policy. Currently serving as the Country Representative for IUCN South Africa since July 2021, Vhalinavho oversees the management and financial sustainability of the organization. Previous roles include South Africa Country Facilitator for the UK PACT program, Executive Director of the Adaptation Institute of Southern Africa, and Co-Chair of the Executive Committee for the Warsaw International Mechanism for Loss and Damage under the UNFCCC. Vhalinavho's academic background includes a PhD in Climate Change Adaptation Policy and Governance from the University of Twente, and advanced degrees in Ecology and Botany, Conservation Biology, and Zoology. Throughout a robust career, Vhalinavho has demonstrated a commitment to integrating innovative climate adaptation solutions and fostering collaborative engagements within the environmental sector.
