Steve (Xiaoxiang) Liu, PhD

Steve (Xiaoxiang) Liu, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Steve (Xiaoxiang) is currently working as a Data Scientist at IVADO Labs since June 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Research Director (Data Science and AI) at Cubeler Business Hub from March 2023 to May 2023. From July 2019 to February 2023, Steve worked as a Senior Lead Data Scientist at SITA. Before that, they were a Research Scientist (Deep Learning) at magicplan from December 2018 to June 2019. From January 2017 to November 2018, they held the position of Director of Computer Vision at Aupera Technologies Inc. Steve also has experience as a Research Scientist at Complex System Inc. from July 2009 to January 2017. Steve (Xiaoxiang) began their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Calgary from September 2005 to June 2009, where they also worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Schulich School of Engineering from September 2005 to April 2009. Following this, they pursued further studies at the University of Calgary from 2005 to 2009, completing a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Computer Engineering. In addition to their academic credentials, Steve has also obtained additional certifications. In April 2020, they earned the AWS Fundamentals Specialization from Coursera. Furthermore, in November 2022, they became a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) through the Scrum Alliance.
