Petrus Raath

Petrus (Pieter) Raath is an experienced safety professional with over three decades in the health, safety, quality, and training sectors, primarily within the mining industry. Currently serving as Safety Superintendent at Ivanhoe Mines since February 2023, Petrus has previously held key roles such as Training Manager at Risk Africa and HSE Specialist at Safety X. Petrus began a long-standing career at AngloGold Ashanti as a Senior Safety Officer before progressing through various positions, including Safety Officer at Shaft Sinkers International, Health and Safety Manager at China Africa Precious Metal, and SHEQT Manager at Redpath Mining Africa. Educational advancement includes ongoing studies at Die Burger since 2008, alongside extensive practical expertise in managing safety operations across numerous mining projects.
