Axel Zimmermann

Axel Zimmermann has extensive work experience in the field of traffic technologies. Axel started their career in 1989 at Prometec GmbH, where they held the position of Hardware Software Developer for Tool Monitoring Systems until 1997.

In 1997, Axel joined IVU Traffic Technologies, where they began as a Software Developer for On Board Unit Public Transport. Axel worked in this role until 2000 when they were promoted to Technical Project Leader for Ticketing Vending Machine. In 2005, they became the Teamleader Software Development for Ticketing, and in 2008, they assumed the role of Technical Project Leader for Ticketing.

From 2008 to 2012, Axel served as the Product Manager for Ticketing/eTicketing and also held the position of Quality Manager during the same period. Axel'smost recent role at IVU Traffic Technologies was that of Information Security Manager, which they held from 2018 onwards.

Throughout their career, Axel has gained valuable experience in various technical and leadership roles, contributing to the development and improvement of ticketing and traffic technology systems.

Axel Zimmermann attended FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences from 1985 to 1989, where they obtained a degree in Dipl.Ing. Electrical Engineering with a focus on Communications Engineering. In addition to their academic education, Axel also holds certifications in Information Security Officer (ISO/IEC 27001 2014 Practitioner) from APMG International, Quality Management Officer from TÜV Süd, and Test Manager from ISTQB - International Software Testing Qualifications Board.
