Business Partner: Skills Development and Organisational Development at Ivy Africa

Irene started her career and an industrial psychologist intern on a Master’s program in Industrial Psychology registered with the University of South Africa (UNISA) hosted by the Edcon Retail Group.

She later moved within the organization from Organisational Development (OD) Analyst, Organisational Development Consultant, OE specialist based within the center of excellence responsible for organizational design which included a lot of policy development and best practice interventions.

She stayed with Edcon until I left in September 2011 to join Adcock Ingram's Pharmaceutical for a broader portfolio with also included Employee & Executive Wellness. Irene stayed in the organization for 2 years until she left to join higher Education with the University of Johannesburg to set up the OD Portfolio and head the group insourcing project.

She later left in 2016 to join the ITC industry with the communications regulator ICASA who headhunted her for the position to resolve the company's performance management and organizational culture challenges.

Irene believes that the "core function of the Learning & Organisational Development is to facilitate people and team process so as to enable optimal business performance, focusing specifically on leadership, development, culture, strategy, diversity and change management"

She is responsible for leadership development, organizational culture; Statutory Training, and Transformation through Skills Development and BBBEE as strategic imperatives.
