Kirill Orlov

Director of Software Engineering at IvySys Technologies

Kirill Orlov is the director of software engineering at IvySys Technologies, where he is responsible for managing software development teams, interacting directly with customers to architect software solutions to meet their mission needs. Kirill has developed counter-WMD situational awareness tools for the fusion and analysis of large data sets using service-oriented and cloud-based architectures. He served as a lead software engineer for big data integration and interoperability software as part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Constellation program.

Prior to joining IvySys, Kirill served as a senior software engineer at Berico Technologies, Inc., where he developed a prototype web-based tool for network graph-oriented analytics and geospatial visualization. Prior to that he was a software analyst at Metron Scientific Solutions, Inc. There he designed and implemented advanced scientific visualization software (RCP/SWT + OpenGL, Swing) for efficient display of acoustic sensor data, target tracking algorithm state information and track estimates, as well as ground truth/bathymetry information.

Kirill has extensive experience developing and integrating advanced open source software systems for tactical situational awareness. His core skills include scientific programming, advanced data visualization, and development of target detection and tracking applications. He received his B.S. degree in computer science and an M.E in electrical engineering from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia.
