Data Architect

As a Data Architect, dedicated to doing what’s right for our clients, you will play a critical role in leading, designing, developing, and implementing robust data solutions on cloud platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, architect data solutions, and ensure data assets' availability, integrity, and security. Our data team has what they need to make a meaningful impact and are truly valued for who they are and what they contribute.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines and models to ensure data quality, integrity, and accessibility;
  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of data processing workflows to support analytics requirements;
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, business stakeholders, other architects, and engineers to understand data needs to design and deliver quality solutions;
  • Define and enforce data modelling and design standards, tools, and best practices;
  • Oversee the implementation of RDBMS, operational data store (ODS), data marts, and data lakes;
  • Identify architecture, infrastructure, and interfaces to data sources, ensuring security and analytic model support;
  • Solve complex data challenges by utilizing optimal patterns, frameworks, and query techniques;
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in data and analytics engineering;
  • Actively participate and mentor others in design reviews, code reviews, and other engineering processes to ensure adherence to best practices and quality standards;
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to data engineering teams within an agile framework, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement;
  • Drive initiatives to enhance data governance, security, and compliance across analytics solutions;
  • Act as a subject matter expert on data and analytics engineering, advising stakeholders on technical solutions and strategies.

Technical Skills:

  • 7+ years’ experience in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and processing workflows;

  • Strong expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling. In addition to data warehouse, data lake design approaches with hands-on experience of Inmon & Kimball methodologies;

  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with advanced problem-solving and data manipulation skills;

  • Proven expertise in designing and constructing data lakes and data warehouse solutions utilizing technologies such as Azure Synapse, Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake or similar;

  • On-hands experience with cloud-based data platforms and technologies: Azure data services (Synapse, ADF), Databricks, dbt, Snowflake;

  • Leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor engineers, teaching them best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within an agile framework;

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams;

  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality work in a dynamic environment;

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving;

  • Knowledge of popular Unix based shell environments such as bash or zsh.
