Krista Jangaard has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Krista started working at the IWK Health Centre in 1996 as a Staff Physician and later took on various roles, including Interim President and CEO, VP of Medicine and Academic Affairs, and currently serves as the President and CEO. In 2010, they also became the Division Head of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at Dalhousie University, a role they held until 2016.

Krista Jangaard obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Medicine from Dalhousie University in the years 1983-1987. Krista then completed a Rotating Internship at Dalhousie University from 1987-1988. Krista further pursued their education at Dalhousie University, specializing in Pediatrics through a Postgraduate Medicine program from 1988-1993. Following that, they completed a Postgraduate Medicine program in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Residency at Dalhousie University from 1993-1996. Lastly, they obtained a Master of Health Administration (MHA) degree from Dalhousie University from 2006-2009.
