Lara Hochstein has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Lara started their career in 2005 as an Instructor at Associazione Culturale Linguistica Educational, where they led ESL classes. In 2006, they interned at the American Library of Paris and also worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at Princeton University.

In 2007, Lara worked as a Researcher at Ecole Normale Superieure. From 2008 to 2014, they worked at UC San Diego as a Graduate Researcher and French Instructor.

In 2010, Lara joined Path to Reading as a Research Assistant for a reading intervention study. Lara administered cognitive and reading tests to elementary school children and conducted interventions.

Starting in 2014, Lara joined IXL Learning and held various roles over the years. Lara began as a Product Analyst and gradually progressed to Senior Curriculum Designer, Lead Curriculum Designer, Curriculum Design Manager, and Senior Curriculum Design Manager. Currently, they hold the position of Curriculum Group Manager, overseeing content development for IXL's ELA product and Vocabulary.com.

Additionally, Lara worked as a Specialized Tutor at Susan Petrick, M.Ed., Educational Therapy, where they applied an adapted version of the Orton-Gillingham method to teach children with dyslexia phonics and developed interactive games and activities for reading and writing skills. Lara also recruited and trained new employees during their time there.

Lara Hochstein has an extensive education history in the field of linguistics. From 2008 to 2013, they attended UC San Diego and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Linguistics. Prior to that, from 2008 to 2011, Lara also completed a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Linguistics at UC San Diego. Lara'sundergraduate education was completed at Princeton University from 2004 to 2008, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. At Princeton, Lara focused their studies on the subjects of French and Italian.
