Jess Johnson

Jess Johnson has over 20 years of experience in the software engineering industry. Jess began their career in 2000 as a Volunteer at REBOL Technologies. In 2005, they became an International Programming Consultant at Saco Internacional and Lead Developer at Unidad22. In 2006, they took on the role of Application Developer at Rise Interactive, where they were the sole developer, architect, and tester of a comprehensive online reporting system for pay-per-click advertising. Jess then went on to become a Freelance Developer at Contextured Ltd in 2008, Owner and Developer at GrokCode Software Development in 2009, Founder and Developer at Author Alcove in 2012, Senior Software Engineer at ORCAS Healthcare Technology in 2014, Staff Software Engineer and Senior Software Engineer at Ad Hoc LLC in 2018, and currently holds the role of Senior Software Engineer at ixlayer since 2022.

Jess Johnson attended the College of Alameda from 2001 to 2002, where they earned an Associate's Degree in General Studies. Jess then transferred to the University of California, Berkeley, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science in 2004. In 2013, they obtained a certification in Introduction to Recommender Systems from Coursera.
