Gunes Ozhan, PhD, is a distinguished professor at İzmir Institute of Technology since October 2022 and serves as a principal investigator at the İzmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (IBG) since January 2014. Prior to these roles, Gunes Ozhan held the position of associate professor at Dokuz Eylul University from January 2014 to October 2022 and was an assistant professor and group leader from February 2014 to March 2016, focusing on Wnt signaling in development, disease, and regeneration. Gunes Ozhan's academic journey includes postdoctoral research at Dresden University of Technology from July 2009 to January 2014, specializing in signal transduction and developmental biology, and obtaining a PhD in molecular developmental biology at the Max Planck Institute from 2005 to 2009. Educational background includes a Master's degree in molecular biology from the International Max Planck Research School and a Bachelor of Science in molecular biology and genetics from Middle East Technical University.
