Dave Negrotto has extensive experience in the field of information technology. Dave began their career as a System Administrator I at Synthetic Genomics Inc., where they were responsible for workstation configurations, maintenance, and deployment. Dave later joined the J. Craig Venter Institute as a System Administrator II, where they continued to handle system and network administration tasks, including software installation and configuration. Dave then moved up to the position of System Administrator III at the institute, where they oversaw the growth of the site from 5 to over 100 people and facilitated the move to a new building. Dave was later promoted to the role of Computer Systems Manager, where they managed a team of two Systems Administrators and played a vital role in growing the site to over 120 people. Finally, they were appointed as the Senior Information Technology Manager at the J. Craig Venter Institute, where they supervised a team of four Systems Administrators and managed a budget of over $1 million. In this role, they shared responsibilities for system and network administration in a nonprofit organization with two sites and played a key role in growing the supported personnel from 5 to over 150 people. Additionally, they worked as a Contract IT at Synthetic Genomics Inc., assisting in the company's growth and providing system administration support.

Dave Negrotto attended Louisiana State University from 1991 to 2000, where they obtained a BSc degree in Microbiology. Later, they pursued further education at the same university from 2002 to 2005 and earned another BSc degree, this time in Computer Science.
