Erin Garza, PhD

Erin Garza, PhD has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and industries. Erin started their career in 2003 as an Optometric Technician at Lenscrafters. In 2008, they worked as a Corn Pathology Laboratory Aide at Monsanto Company. From 2010 to 2016, Erin served as a Teaching Assistant at Northern Illinois University. Erin then became an Adjunct Biology Instructor at Kishwaukee College from 2011 to 2012. In 2014, Erin returned to Monsanto Company as an Entomology Laboratory Aide, where they worked until 2016. Most recently, Erin joined the J. Craig Venter Institute in 2017 as a Staff Scientist.

Erin Garza, PhD began their education at Harper College from 2004 to 2006, where they earned an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies and an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Science. Erin then continued their studies at Northern Illinois University, obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Science from 2006 to 2008. Erin went on to pursue a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Molecular Biology at Northern Illinois University, which they completed from 2008 to 2011. Finally, they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Microbiology, General from Northern Illinois University, completing their studies from 2011 to 2016.
