Miles Cobley's work experience includes various roles in different companies. Miles worked at Laing O'Rourke from 2005 to 2016, starting as a Construction Trainee and progressing to roles in planning, project management, and eventually business leadership. During their time at Laing O'Rourke, they were involved in successfully delivering high-profile projects in different sectors. In 2012, they graduated from the Young Guns future leadership development program.
From 2014 to 2016, Miles served as the General Manager of GRCUK, a separate legal entity of the Laing O'Rourke Group. In this role, they were responsible for leading all aspects of the business and overseeing its integration and transformation after acquisition.
In 2017, Miles joined The East Manchester Academy as a Project Manager, where they managed a £650k single-storey extension project from concept design to delivery and handover.
From 2018 to 2021, they worked at Murphy as the Group Head of Planning & Project Controls. In this role, they proactively gathered and interpreted commercial, financial, operational, and project controls information for the Murphy Group. Miles provided insights on business performance and led a growing Planning, Project Controls & Data Analysis function.
In January 2022, Miles became the Managing Director of Construction & Specialist Businesses at Murphy. Further details of this role are not specified.
Additionally, in 2016, they served as the Chair of The International Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete Association (GRCA).
Miles Cobley completed a BSc in Construction Management from Liverpool John Moores University from 2008 to 2011. Prior to that, they achieved an HNC in Building Technology from the same university from 2006 to 2008.
