Tom Learner is the Head of Science at the Getty Conservation Institute, where they serve as a Senior Scientist. Previously, they worked as a Senior Conservation Scientist at Tate from 1996 to 2006 and have been a Senior Scientist at The J. Paul Getty Trust since 2007. Learner holds a Master's Degree in Chemistry from the University of Oxford and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry at Birkbeck, University of London, following a Diploma in the Conservation of Easel Paintings from the Courtauld Institute of Art.
