Rakesh focuses on Corporate Commercial and specialises in inbound investments into India, Venture Capital & Private Equity investments, Joint Ventures, Mergers & Acquisitions. He offers end to end transactional support to investors as well as target companies on commercial transactions, including corporate/business structuring, commercial contracting, negotiation of definitive agreements, pre-closing and post-closing actions, regulatory & corporate compliances.
Rakesh has significant domain expertise in the telecom sector, with focus on regulatory and policy matters. He advises clients on conducting business in India from a telecom regulatory perspective, including on product offerings (over the top services, contact centre services, VoIP, IoT, etc) regulatory issues & compliances, licensing arrangements, commercial contracting, etc.
He also works extensively with Technology companies and advises them on various aspects of information technology law in India, including data privacy and protection, data transfer, cyber security. He also assists clients with commercial contracts such as software development agreements, software services agreements, technology license agreements, technology transfer agreements, data transfer and processing agreements, as well as policy documents such as privacy policies, website terms of use.
He also provides regulatory advice to clients on setting of, and compliances in relation to, STPI’s (Software Technology Parks of India) and SEZ’s (Special Economic Zone).
Rakesh has also been involved in Banking & Finance transactions including Debt Transactions, Project Finance and Security creation.
