Senior Associate, Scholarship Operations at Jack Kent Cooke

Nancy Bader is the Senior Associate of Scholarship Operations at Jack Kent Cooke. Nancy has also worked as an Interim Accountant at Blue Ridge Hospice and as a Business Manager / Accountant at ProLawn. Nancy has also served as Treasurer and Member at Large at Admiral Richard E. Byrd Middle School PTO.

Nancy has a strong background in accounting and finance, which they have put to use in their various roles. At Blue Ridge Hospice, they were responsible for analyzing retail sales, preparing sales and payroll tax reports, and journalizing retail sales, sale taxes, donations, payroll, payroll taxes, and reconciliation entries. Nancy was also responsible for evaluating and interpreting financial data to create a working budget with the CFO.

At ProLawn, Nancy recovered the integrity of the accounting system, reconciled and implemented proper accounting processes, administered multi-state payroll with many court ordered garnishments, corrected and updated payroll processes to the electronic/online versions of tax payments and reporting, evaluated and implemented a new health insurance and benefit package, increased A/R collections by streamlining accurate billings and implementing electronic payments, and supervised payable and receivable staff.

As Treasurer at Admiral Richard E. Byrd Middle School PTO, Nancy was responsible for overseeing the organization's finances. In this role, they handled all aspects of the organization's budget, including creating financial reports, tracking spending, and making recommendations to the Board of Directors on how to best use PTO funds.

Nancy Bader attended Virginia Tech - Pamplin College of Business, where they earned their BS in Business and Accounting. Nancy also attended West Springfield High School.

They are on a team with Allison Grubb - Program Associate, Scholarship Operations, Melissa Fromm - Associate, Scholarship Operations, and Stacy Morris - Program Manager, Scholarship Operations. Their manager is Dana O’Neill, VP, Scholarship Programs Operations.
