Antonios Somarakis

Assistant Computational Scientist at The Jackson Laboratory

Antonios Somarakis is an experienced computational scientist currently serving as an Assistant Computational Scientist at The Jackson Laboratory since March 2022. Previously, Antonios worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Leiden University Medical Center from February 2017 to February 2022, focusing on the supervised and unsupervised analysis of spatially resolved omics datasets at single-cell resolution using deep learning models. Antonios also earned a PhD in Biomathematics, Bioinformatics, and Computational Biology from Leiden University during this time. Earlier experiences include roles as a Firmware Engineer at EMTech, a student tutor, a librarian at the National Technical University of Athens, and a working student at Nokia Networks, where Antonios developed automation frameworks for testing. Antonios holds an Engineer's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens.
