Shannon McWeeney serves as Associate Director of Data Science and Chief Data Officer at OHSU Knight Cancer Institute since April 2019. Additionally, Shannon holds the position of Professor and Vice Chair in the Department of Medical Informatics and Clinical Epidemiology at OHSU, where Shannon has been employed since 2002. Shannon's expertise includes leading the Division of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. Involvement with multiple prestigious organizations includes membership in the American Society of Hematology's Task Force on Artificial Intelligence in Hematology, the Board of Scientific Counselors at The Jackson Laboratory, and the NHGRI Genome Data Science Working Group. Shannon's previous role at The Jackson Laboratory involved lecturing on the Genetics of Addiction. Academically, Shannon earned a Ph.D. in Statistical Genetics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master's Degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
