Brandon Smith

Brandon Smith is an experienced information security and legal professional with a diverse background in risk management, privacy compliance, and intellectual property. Currently serving as the Information Security Business Manager at Jackson since December 2017, Brandon provides consultation to business partners on information security and privacy compliance risks while coordinating security aspects of various projects. Previously, at Consumers Energy, Brandon held multiple roles including Senior Cyber Security Risk and Privacy Analyst, where Brandon contributed to establishing risk management and privacy programs, as well as managing procurement for IT-related software and services. Brandon's earlier experience includes roles focused on intellectual property management at Michigan State University and consulting positions in biotechnology commercialization. Brandon holds a Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Michigan State University.
