Nathaniel Efthimiou

Assistant Conductor at Jacksonville Symphony

Nathaniel Efthimiou is an accomplished conductor currently serving as the Assistant Conductor and Music Director for the Jacksonville Symphony and Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra, respectively, since July 2024. Previous experience includes roles as Assistant Conductor at the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra and Music School from September 2020 to June 2024, and a Cover Conductor for the Boston Symphony Orchestra for a special project in May 2024. Nathaniel has held various guest conducting positions, including with the Southwest Florida Symphony and the New England Conservatory of Music. In addition to conducting, Nathaniel has been involved in academia as an Assistant Professor at Berklee College of Music from September 2021 to May 2024. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Musical Arts in Orchestral Conducting from Boston University and a Master's degree in Conducting from Houghton University. Nathaniel is also recognized for being a semi-finalist in the 2nd Hong Kong International Conducting Competition in March 2023 and participated in the AAF/Faber Young Conductor Fellowship at the Salzburger Festspiele in the summer of 2023.
