Desiree Lewis

Desiree Lewis began her career at Riis Settlement as the program director for Riis Academy-PS111 in 2016, and was promoted to the position of director of youth services in 2018. Ms. Lewis has over ten years’ experience working in the youth development field. Prior to joining Riis Settlement, she held a number of positions at the Police Athletic League (PAL) of Greater New York ranging from group leader and resource coordinator to assistant program director. During her tenure with PAL, she was honored as a “Woman of Inspiration” by AIG for the work that she and her youth council did during the Hurricane Sandy relief effort. Desiree holds a master’s degree in nonprofit management from Fordham University.
