Eugene Fiume

Eugene Fiume has extensive work experience in academia and the technology industry. Since 2017, they have been the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Simon Fraser University and a Professor of Computing Science. Eugene is also a Co-Founder and Chair of the Board at JALI Research Inc. Prior to their current roles, they were a Professor at the University of Toronto, where they also served as the Director of the Master of Science in Applied Computing (MScAC) Program. Eugene has also worked as a Technical Advisor at TandemLaunch, a Member of the Advisory Council at NGRAIN Corp., and a Member of the Advisory Group at Intel Corporation. Eugene has served on the Board of Directors at Tucows Incorporated. Earlier in their career, they held the position of Director of Research and Usability Engineering at Alias | Wavefront.

Eugene Fiume completed their education in the field of Computer Science. Eugene obtained their Ph.D. degree from the University of Toronto, which they pursued from 1983 to 1986. Prior to that, from 1981 to 1983, they earned their M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from the same university. Eugene's educational journey began at the University of Waterloo, where they pursued their bachelor's degree in Computer Science, known as B.Math., from 1976 to 1981.
