Anita Barbee

Anita Barbee currently serves as Co-Director of the CWEL Educational Pathways Strategy at Families Rising since August 2024. With extensive experience in academia and consultancy, Anita holds a position as Faculty at the Child & Family Policy Institute of California since July 2013 and has been a Consultant at James Bell Associates since October 2008, focusing on evaluating the Children's Bureau Capacity Building Centers. A distinguished professor and PhD Program Director at the University of Louisville since August 1986, Anita has held various leadership roles within the Junior League of Louisville, including Past President and other advisory positions. Through involvement with the International Association for Relationship Research as President-Elect, President, and Past President from August 2016 to July 2022, Anita demonstrates a strong commitment to professional development and community engagement, supported by a robust educational background that includes a Ph.D. in Social Psychology.
