Cynthia Bauerle is a distinguished academic and leader in the field of biology, currently serving as Professor of Biology, Interim Vice Provost for Faculty and Curriculum, and Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics at James Madison University since July 2016. Bauerle is also an Editorial Board Member for CBE Life Sciences Education and an AAAS Fellow with the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Previously, Bauerle held several key roles at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute from 2009 to 2016, including Assistant Director and Senior Program Officer, overseeing significant undergraduate science education programs. With experience as a Professor and Chair at Spelman College and a Professor at Hamline University, Bauerle has contributed to curriculum development and faculty coordination in biology and women's studies.
