Diego Gomez

Diego Gomez is an accomplished Geotechnical Engineer with extensive experience in the field. Currently at Jan De Nul Group since April 2022, Diego focuses on geotechnical engineering. Previously, as a PhD Researcher at Ghent University from September 2020 to March 2022, Diego contributed to the SOIL-TWIN Research project, which involved data-driven design optimization for offshore wind turbine foundations. Diego's earlier roles include geotechnical engineering positions at INGETEC S.A, optimizing deep foundation solutions for the Bogota Metro, and at Golder Associates, overseeing QA/QC for mining projects. Research efforts at the Centre for Offshore Foundation Systems involved developing geotechnical design frameworks for renewable energy devices. Diego's foundational expertise was built through roles as a Junior Geotechnical Engineer and a Research Assistant, supported by advanced degrees in Geotechnical and Offshore Geotechnical Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes and The University of Western Australia.
