Dimitri Vanhauwaert

Dimitri Vanhauwaert has extensive experience in neurosurgery, currently serving as a consultant neurosurgeon at Jan Yperman Ziekenhuis and AZ Sint-Andriesziekenhuis since September 2008 and October 2023 respectively. In addition, Dimitri holds a board member position at the Belgian Society of Neurosurgery since March 2022 and has been recognized as an IFAANS member with the American Association of Neurological Surgeons since January 2021. Prior roles include consultant neurosurgeon positions at AZ Delta, AZ Sint Augustinus Veurne, and AZ Damiaan, as well as resident neurosurgeon roles at UZ Gent and H.-Hartziekenhuis Roeselare Menen. Dimitri began medical training with a Doctor of Medicine degree from Ghent University, completed between 1995 and 2001, after foundational education at Sint-Leo Hemelsdaele and Sint Gerolfinstituut Aalter.
