Hunter Gillies

Associate Principal, Registered Architect at Jasmax

With over 42 years’ of practice since becoming registered in 1980, Hunter has a wealth of experience in the design and construction of a large number of significant civic and education buildings, particularly focussing on those with high heritage value.

Having worked in New Zealand, Kenya and Tanzania, Hunter has had wide experience in getting projects built. He excels in managing the technical aspects in the design and documentation stage of a project. He clearly understands the special approach required in optimising the building process to assist the contractor and to deliver the project in a way that is acceptable to both the client and the designers.

Hunter is skilled in collaborating in joint-venture teams. Further, he has proven ability to handle the multiple complexities of large-scale projects. The smooth coordination of structure and services into the architecture and heritage fabric is one of his many strengths.
