Jason Janisch has worked in various engineering and managerial roles since 1999. Jason began their career at 3M as a Product Development Engineer before moving to American Cast Iron Pipe Company as a Sales Engineer in 2001. In 2005, they became a Project Manager at Kootenia Homes, followed by a Sales Engineer/Project Manager role at Plant and Flanged Equipment Company in 2006. In 2007, they joined Champion Charter as a Mechanical/Sales Engineer and Shop Manager, where they managed a mining equipment repair facility with a staff of six mechanics and annual sales of $2M. In 2010, they bought into Jasper Engineering & Equipment Company as a joint owner, taking on the roles of Board Director and Vice President. In this role, they managed all aspects of the business, including pricing, vendor selection, oversight of cashflow, sales, and operational improvement. Jason transitioned the family-owned business into a successful company, instituting robust operations processes and formal safety structures, sales metrics, and growth targets.
Jason Janisch began their educational journey at Saint Paul Central in 1990 and graduated in 1995. Jason then attended the University of Minnesota where they earned a BSME in Mechanical Engineering in 2000. In 2008, they attended the Colorado School of Mines for an Introduction to Minerals Processing Shortcourse. In 2010, they attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire for Graduate Courses in Business Finance. In 2021, they obtained a Certificate from Harvard Business School Online in Alternative Investments. Jason is currently enrolled in the Humphrey School of Public Affairs and is expected to earn their Master of Public Affairs in 2024.
