Dr. Sagara Lakmal de Mel

Dr. Sagara Lakmal De Mel is a seasoned Sri Lankan photojournalist with extensive experience in photography and television directing. Currently serving as the Official Photographer for the Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka, Gustav Mahler Society of Colombo, Sri Lanka Cricket, JAT Holdings PLC, Royal Turf Club, and SriLankan Airlines, Dr. De Mel has held a significant role as Director of Photography at the Presidents Media Division for the 7th Executive President of Sri Lanka from January 2020 to August 2022. Notable prior experience includes a tenure as Television Director at the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation from April 1993 to March 2008, as well as a longstanding association with Media Ambassadors since March 2006 as a Television Director and Professional Photographer. Dr. De Mel's educational background includes studies at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Prince of Wales College.
