Wayne Young

Vice President, Environmental Services at JEA

Wayne Young has extensive work experience in both the energy and military sectors. Wayne served in various roles at JEA, including Vice President of Environmental Services, Director of Environmental Programs, Director of Government Affairs, Director of Business Client Relationships, and Director of Smart Meter/Smart Grid Implementation. Prior to their time at JEA, Wayne had a successful career in the US Navy where they held positions such as Chief of Staff for Strike Force Training, Commanding Officer of the USS HUE CITY (CG-66), and Director of Officer Training at the Surface Warfare Officer School Command.

Wayne Young holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Management and Technology from the United States Naval Academy. Wayne also has a Master of Science (M.S.) in Telecommunications Systems from the U.S. Naval War College and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Strategic Planning, Policy and Decision Making from the Naval Postgraduate School. Additionally, they have certifications in Communications Operations and Technical System Engineering as well as in Steam and Gas Turbine Mechanical & Electrical Operations, both obtained from the US Navy.
