Shanavas Kavu

Shanavas Kavu currently serves as Senior Director of Data Science at Jellyfish, beginning in March 2024, focusing on marketing strategy and generative AI among other skills. Previously, Shanavas held the position of Director of Data Science at Macy's from November 2021 to February 2024, where responsibilities included supporting network strategy, allocation, fulfillment, omni-channel planning, and assortment optimization while collaborating with analytics and engineering teams. During tenure at Foot Locker from September 2017 to November 2021, Shanavas progressed from Interim Director of Data Science, leading efforts to enhance omni-channel business, to Principal Data Scientist and Senior Data Scientist, working on forecasting, optimization, and AI-related projects. Earlier experience included two postdoctoral fellowships at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the University of Missouri. Shanavas earned a Ph.D. in Condensed Matter and Materials Physics and a diploma in Physical Sciences from Homi Bhabha National Institute.
