Derek White is the Senior Vice President of Fire & Building Safety at Jensen Hughes. Derek has been with the company since May of 2018 and has been in their current position since September of 2019. Prior to their current role, they served as the Senior Vice President of US Operations, where they were responsible for the P&L of the company's core engineering consulting business in Fire/Life Safety services. This included over 40 locations, 425+ professional staff, and $130M in revenue. Derek was also responsible for delivering revenue growth in a private equity driven environment. Derek's purview included budgeting, strategy development, workforce expansion/contraction, working capital, orders, backlog and other KPIs. Derek's current initiatives are focused on legacy company integration, moving to a matrix organization, building regional leadership teams, developing and maturing front-line leadership (office directors), and sourcing/due diligence of M&A targets. Derek is also responsible for partnering across all functional areas of the business to drive performance. Derek is the Chief Compliance Officer.
Derek White attended the Worcester Polytechnic Institute for both their B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and their M.S. in Fire Protection Engineering. Derek also has an Executive Advanced Management Program from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Derek is certified as a ScrumMaster from the Scrum Alliance and has a TS Clearance from DISCO. Derek is also a Professional Engineer licensed in Maryland (1996), NCEES (1999), Oregon (1999), Utah (2002), Illinois (2015), Idaho (2015), Kansas (2015), New Jersey (2015), North Dakota (2016), Virgin Islands (2017), New York (2018), and North Carolina (2018).
