Michael Rodriguez

Michael Rodriguez has over 30 years of experience in the design, construction, commissioning, operation and management of hydrometallurgical and pyro-metallurgical plants across Australia, Turkey, Europe and the Americas. Michael has a strong background in project construction, mechanical completion and site handover to operations. His previous employers include Poseidon Nickel (Windarra, Black Swan and Lake Johnston Nickel Operations), GoldCorp, WMC Resources (Olympic Dam and Kwinana Nickel Refinery), Glencore (Murrin Murrin) and Gordes Nickel.

He has held senior executive roles as Chief Operations Officer, Refinery Manager, Projects, Technical Services and Corporate Strategic Development Manager. As site registered manager he managed over 300 staff and contractors with an annual budget over A$150 million. His team had responsibility for the design and commissioning of the High Pressure Acid Leach (HPAL) circuit, including the Pressure Oxidative (POX) leach autoclave, sulphuric acid and hydrogen sulphide plants, solvent extraction (SX) and hydrogen reduction.

Mr Rodriguez was a Non-Executive Director of Jervois from October 2017 prior to his appointment as Executive General Manager – Technical Services in 2019.
