Ilse Govers

Ilse Govers is a versatile professional with extensive experience in research, social work, and communication. Currently serving as a freelance researcher for the Life Event Atlas of Stichting Erwelzijn since September 2023 and as a budding youth protector at Jeugdbescherming Brabant, Ilse also co-founded Fairtrail in April 2019. Previous roles include working as a social worker at Vrij CLB regio Gent, where solutions were sought for various care-related issues, and conducting contact tracing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ilse has contributed to projects as a journalist intern at Apache.be and as a researcher and campaigner at Minderhedenforum, focusing on representation of individuals with migration backgrounds. With a strong educational background, including a Master's degree in Sociology from Ghent University and a postgraduate degree in research journalism, Ilse has also worked as a freelance writer and marketing associate, showcasing a solid foundation in communication and research methods.
