Barry has experience in consulting, having worked as a Fitness, Sports, Aquatics, and Membership Consultant for JCCs of North America. Barry is currently the Chief Membership and Facilities Officer at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City, where they previously held the positions of Senior Director and Director in various departments.

Before that, they attended Northwest Kansas Technical School from 1995 to 1997, where they acquired credentials in Engineering Technology. In addition, they received an Associate's degree in Engineering Technology from Colby Community College from 1995 to 1996. Earlier, from 1992 to 1993, they attended Fort Hays State University, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in General Studies. Lastly, they completed their high school education at Thomas More Prep Marian, earning a diploma from 1988 to 1992.
