JOB SUMMARY:
The Carpenter Foreman is responsible for on site management of all JHL craft personnel. Through daily coordination with the Superintendent, the Carpenter Foreman will track, prioritize, and assign craft tasks in order to facilitate the needs of the project schedule. This position will oversee the project in the field to maintain layout control as well as JHL’s safety and quality programs. The Carpenter Foreman will be a key player in training and instructing JHL craft for efficient and quality work in addition to the development of skills and has direct authority over on-site JHL craft. He/she will coordinate with the Superintendent on prioritization of craft task. They will also coordinate with the Superintendent on all decisions related to or direction regarding subcontractors.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Core Duties / Responsibilities:
Organize and lead all JHL craft labor on site daily
Takes responsibility for production and results of craft labor
Leads morning craft labor coordination meeting
Leads jobsite-wide weekly toolbox talks as directed by Superintendent
Responsible for safety of crew, including the implementation of JHAs when applicable
Assists superintendent in enforcing JHL safety program with trades and business partners on-site
Provides guidance and instruction to craft labor in order to effectively complete tasks
Assisting in building layout and maintaining control throughout construction
Responsible for receiving and verification of material deliveries as directed by Superintendent
Layout, coordination, installation, and verification of wood and metal blocking
Erecting temporary walkways, and ramps, and scaffolding
Setting forms for concrete
Layout and installation of embeds
Layout and installation of reinforcing steel
Place and finish concrete
Hanging doors and installing hardware
Trim and finish carpentry
Other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience:
Preferred: High School Diploma or GED
Must have completed CITC (or equivalent) apprenticeship training or otherwise demonstrated substantial industry experience and proficiency.
Maintain OSHA 30 (minimum) and recommended refresher training.
Obtain as required - project specific and equipment operation safety training.
