Joseph Bevitt is an accomplished Senior Instrument Scientist at ANSTO, where Joseph specializes in neutron imaging, collaborating with museums and universities to innovate techniques in palaeontology, archaeology, and cultural heritage. With a strong leadership background, Joseph has managed various research office functions at ANSTO, coordinated user access to advanced neutron beam instruments, and served as a Guest Research Fellow at Jilin University's Dinosaur Evolution Research Center. Past roles include Deputy President of the International Society for Neutron Radiology and President of the NSW Branch of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute. Joseph earned a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Sydney, where significant research contributions were made in nanoporous materials and gas sorption processes.
