Lei Wang

Lei Wang serves as the Deputy Director at the Research Centre on Urban Geology (CCOP) since August 2022 and has held the position of President at the UK China Association of Resources and Environment (UK-CARE) since October 2018. As a Visiting Professor at Jilin University and a Visiting Research Fellow at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, both roles commenced in 2018 and 2017, respectively, Lei Wang also contributes as a Senior Scientist at the British Geological Survey since September 2016. Expertise includes the development of mathematical models for hydrological and hydrogeological processes to enhance environmental management, with responsibilities encompassing research project leadership, stakeholder collaboration, and academic supervision. Experience spans roles such as High Research Officer at the British Geological Survey and Development Manager at Shenzhen Careland Information Systems. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Environmental Hydrogeology from Cardiff University and a second PhD in Geo-Environment Information Management from Jilin University, complemented by a Master's in GIS and GIS Applications and a Bachelor's in Applied Geophysics.
