Ashley Messina

Ashley Messina has a diverse work experience in the field of human resources and operations. Ashley is currently the Chief People Officer at JMAN Group since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Academia - the Technology Group, where they held various roles including Chief People Officer from 2020 to 2022, HR & Operations Director from 2018 to 2020, and Head of HR from 2015 to 2018. Ashley also served as the Head of People Development/Key Account Manager at Let's Sell Lobster from 2013 to 2015 and Group HR Manager at Newmark Hotels, Reserves and Lodges in 2013. Their earlier experience includes roles such as Recruitment Specialist and HRD Facilitator at Truworths from 2011 to 2013, and Training Manager at Cape Grace from 2006 to 2010. Ashley has a strong background in HR strategy, operational management, and team leadership.

Ashley Messina completed a Programme in HR Management at the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika in 2009. From 2001 to 2003, they attended Damelin, where they obtained a BCOM degree in Tourism Management. In addition, they have obtained certifications such as the Coach Certification Program from The Life Coach School, and the Best Companies 3 Star Accredited Manager certification from Best Companies in April 2020.
