Mark Montgomery

Principal Mechanical Engineer at JMA Wireless

Mark Montgomery began their work experience as a Mechanical Engineer at Alcatel USA (formerly DSC Communications) in 1990. Mark primarily designed Central Office equipment, focusing on NEBS compliance, EMI containment, thermal analysis, and seismic analysis. Mark also implemented cost reductions and process improvements. Mark then moved on to Rapid5 Networks in 1999, where they worked as a Mechanical Engineering Lead. At Rapid5 Networks, they designed a NEBS 3 compliant Media Gateway chassis and managed various aspects of the design process. In 2002, Mark joined Covaro Networks as a Mechanical Engineer, where they designed a range of products, including rack-mount Ethernet extension chassis and Network Interface Devices. Mark worked at TXP Corporation from 2006 to 2010 as the Engineering Manager, developing custom retrofit solutions for telecommunications companies. Mark enabled these companies to save 65% on deployment costs by improving legacy outdoor telecom cabinets. In 2010, they worked as a Mechanical Engineer (Contract) at Overture Networks and provided mechanical design services through their personal contracting business, Xternal Design. Mark'sclients included a telecommunications startup, pluggable optics companies, a video surveillance company, a PCB manufacturer, and a wearable communications company. In 2011, Mark joined Fujitsu Network Communications as a Physical Design Engineer IV, where they designed OSP cabinets and facilitated cross-functional meetings to improve communication and processes. Mark then worked as the Principal Mechanical Systems Engineer at Menara Networks from 2016 to 2019, and is currently the Principal Mechanical Engineer at JMA Wireless. At both companies, their work involved designing and overseeing mechanical systems.

Mark Montgomery earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University, completing their studies from 1987 to 1990. Mark also pursued additional education and certifications through Coursera, focusing on Entrepreneurship and Python programming. Mark obtained various certifications, including Six Sigma Tools for Analyze, Six Sigma Tools for Define and Measure, and Six Sigma Principles from Coursera Course Certificates in 2019.
