Art Isbrandt

Art Isbrandt has extensive experience in the automotive and aviation industry. Art is currently working as a Quality Lead at Joby Aviation since 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Tesla for several years in various quality management roles. At Tesla, they served as a Senior Quality Manager for the Model Y program, overseeing the quality of rear megacasting, body-in-white, paint, and general assembly. Art also had additional responsibilities for metrology and dimensional quality support. Before their role as a Senior Quality Manager, they were a Quality Manager and Associate Quality Manager at Tesla, where they managed quality for casting, CNC, and extrusion sub-assembly, led a team, implemented Lean Six Sigma program, and achieved significant reductions in scrap and escapes to customers.

Before joining Tesla, Art Isbrandt worked at Boeing as a Process Engineer and Materials & Process Engineer from 2010 to 2015. Art started their career as a Management Trainee at Austral Bricks in 2010.

Art Isbrandt graduated from Monash University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) degree in Materials. In the same year, Art Isbrandt also obtained a Bachelor degree in Materials Engineering from the University of Arizona. In terms of additional certifications, Art Isbrandt earned a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from the Pyzdek Institute LLC in November 2014, as well as a certification in Minitab Statistical Analysis for Manufacturing from Minitab in 2013.
